General Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) - public cruises of Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH
1. Scope of application
The General Terms & Conditions regulate the legal relationships between Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH and its passengers. They are integral part of the contract regarding ticket purchases.
2. Admission / opening times
Unless otherwise stated, boarding begins 15 minutes before departure. Mooring and casting off in ship traffic can result in slight delays.
Throughout the season (May to September), the office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Out of season, the office is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
3. Ticket prices
Cruises with Hohentwiel are tax free. For cruises where gastronomic services or similar are included in the price, the tax is shown on the invoice. The tax rate depends on the port of departure.
- Child discount (5 to 15 years)
Children under the age of 5 travel for free and do not need a ticket. However, they must be specified when booking. Children aged 5 to 15 years receive a 50% discount on the ticket price. We reserve the right not to offer children's tickets for certain types of travel.
- Group discount (from 20 people)
When booking 20 people or more, we grant a discount of 5% on the purely travel-based portion of the fare. Since the travel portion, i.e. the length of the trip and thus the proportion of costs, is virtually the same for all offers, a fixed discount of € 1.80 for adults and € 0.90 for children between 5 and 15 years is set to keep things simple. This does not affect gastronomic services.
If a salon is reserved exclusively by a group, but not all of the seats are occupied, the unused seats in the relevant salon will be charged at the pure share of the fare.
There is no discount for seniors, people with disabilities or regular guests.
4. Tickets
Tickets can be purchased in writing, by telephone, online, in the office in Hard or at various ticket agencies. The number of tickets available for sale depends on the type of trip. On some trips, if the weather is fine, additional tickets can be bought on board. However, there is no entitlement to this; tickets cannot be reserved in advance. The captain is free to decide on the day of the voyage whether additional tickets are sold.
By purchasing the ticket, the guest accepts the house rules of Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH. Failure to do so may result in being expelled from the ship.
It is not permitted to use the ticket for a journey other than the one booked and stated on the boarding pass.
In the event of unauthorised duplication and/or circulation of counterfeit tickets, the guest may be held liable for the resulting damages and will be legally prosecuted.
5. Seat reservations
Seat reservations are not possible for round trips or trips without gastronomic services included in the fare. There is free choice of seats.
Every guest has an assigned seat on gourmet cruises. Seat requests can be specified before the journey. These are noted when booking, but are not binding. Die Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH endeavours to take all wishes into account.
6. Gastronomic offerings
The catering on board is carried out by the on-board catering staff contracted by us. For round trips, you can choose from a small menu or a cake and strudel offer. A fixed menu is served for gourmet cruises. There is no choice here.
Due to the limited possibilities on board, it is not possible to prepare special menus during a trip at short notice. Peculiarities regarding intolerance, allergies, vegetarian food or similar must be reported to Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH office no later than three days before the trip. The kitchen will be happy to take this into account. Reports regarding the meal submitted later than this, especially on the day of the trip or during the trip, cannot be taken into account.
7. Vouchers
Vouchers can be ordered for all trips (except Lake Constance Night). This is only possible with Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH. Vouchers are not tied to a specific trip, which means that the recipient can still choose when they travel. The vouchers are valid for three years. If the expiry date stated on the voucher has elapsed, please contact the Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH office. The desired trip for which a voucher is to be redeemed must be registered in advance. When booking the trip, the voucher will be offset against the value at the time of issue. When redeeming a voucher, any fare changes must be paid for.
Only paid vouchers can be redeemed. Vouchers can only be redeemed with Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH. This can be done by phone or by entering the voucher number in the booking form on the homepage of Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH. After a successful booking, the guest receives confirmation data, which they must enter on the voucher. The voucher is then valid as a ticket and must be brought along for the journey. Vouchers for which the confirmation data has not been entered are considered invalid and will not be accepted as a ticket on board.
If there is credit leftover once vouchers have been redeemed, this will be paid out in cash up to a maximum of € 20.00 upon boarding. If the difference is greater than € 20.00, the guest receives a residual voucher for this value when boarding, which can be redeemed within three years for trips with Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH.
Pay-outs, reimbursement or cash redemptions are not possible.
8. Online sales
Tickets ordered online can be paid by credit card (via PayPal) or by invoice.
Online tickets can only be printed out when paying by credit card; they are only valid with a barcode and in printed form as an A4 printout. Tickets accessed via cell phones or other technical devices cannot be accepted and are therefore not valid. Vouchers cannot be printed out yourself.
9. Exchanging/returning tickets
Booked tickets can only be cancelled in the event of illness up to three days before the travel date. The tickets can then be rebooked for another date, as long as seats are available. Otherwise, the guest receives a voucher for the value of the tickets. Cancellations made later than this cannot be considered. Tickets also lose their validity in the event that guests do not attend. Cancelled tickets cannot be exchanged for cash.
As a general rule, tickets for the Bregenz Festival performances cannot be cancelled.
10. Loss of tickets or vouchers
In the event a ticket is lost, guests are not entitled to travel or to reimbursement of the ticket price. A replacement ticket can be issued to the guest on one occasion. The date of the trip and the name of the customer must be specified.
Vouchers cannot be reissued or redeemed if lost. The guest must ensure that a voucher is not accessible to third parties. It is not possible for Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH to check whether a voucher has been redeemed by the rightful owner for a trip. Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH is therefore not obliged to compensate guests for any resulting losses and/or damages.
11. Payment terms
Tickets and vouchers for public cruises can be paid online via our website using a credit card (PayPal) or by invoice. When paying by credit card, tickets can be printed out directly on a PC or sent by post after receipt of payment. When paying by invoice, the tickets or vouchers are sent together with the invoice by post. A payment term of 14 days from the invoice date then applies. If the payment deadline is not met, a payment reminder will be sent to the billing address provided. After the third reminder, we then hand the matter over to a lawyer.
You can pay by cash, card or invoice in the office of Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH.
You can only pay in cash on board the MS Oesterreich.
12. Shipping costs
In order to dispatch tickets, vouchers and merchandise, shipping expenses are charged depending on the actual outlay, the minimum amount is 2.00 EUR.
13. Cancellation policy
If a trip has to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control such as storms, floods, accidents or machine damage, Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH assumes no liability for consequential costs of the customer such as hotel accommodation, travel costs or the like. On the other hand, any payments already made to Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH will of course be reimbursed.
Museumsschiff OESTERREICH GmbH reserves the right to cancel trips due to insufficient capacity. The guests then have the option of rebooking for another date depending on the availability of seats. Otherwise, the guest receives a voucher for the value of the cancelled tickets. If neither of the two options is possible, we will refund the money for tickets already paid.
