The history of the largest city on Lake Constance goes back to Roman times. The old town of Konstanz is better preserved than in many other cities in Germany, among other things because it was not significantly damaged in the Thirty Years' War or in the Second World War. There is a large number of preserved buildings from the Middle Ages when the city was in full bloom. Today, two universities are located in Konstanz. It has almost 82,000 inhabitants and, thanks to its unique scenic location, offers both locals and countless guests the highest quality of life.
